An Italy-based client required a reliable and efficient system to transport high-tonnage steel coils within their production facility. Remote-controlled coil movement was essential for safety and operational efficiency. Additionally, the transfer cart had to be compatible with existing machinery and capable of autonomous operation.
The main challenges included safely lifting and transporting extremely heavy coils and developing a customized hydraulic lifting structure. The 30-ton system needed to handle lifting, rotating, and positioning functions while integrating advanced sensors and an automation control unit.
FADA Engineering designed a fully customized 30-ton hydraulic coil lifting transfer cart equipped with ultrasonic sensors, laser scanners, safety bumpers, and a robust rail-guided movement system. The cart was engineered to integrate seamlessly with the plant’s rail layout and supports autonomous travel capabilities.
This project demonstrates FADA Engineering’s ability to deliver tailored solutions for heavy-duty industrial applications. The custom-designed coil transfer cart ensures safe, efficient, and automation-ready coil handling—significantly increasing operational productivity.
