Our customer, based in Italy, was looking for a solution to expedite and enhance the safety of transferring high-tonnage steel coils within their factory. The safe remote-controlled transport of coil rolls was crucial to increase efficiency in factory operations. Additionally, the transfer cart was required to be compatible with other machines and capable of autonomous operation.
The main challenges faced in this project were the safe transport of high-tonnage coils and the need for a special design. The 30-ton capacity transfer cart, operating with a hydraulic lifting system, had to have special functions, such as lifting and rotating coils. Additionally, integrating sensors and the automation unit posed a significant challenge.
At Fada Engineering, we developed a special solution tailored to our customer's needs. We designed a rail coil transfer cart with a 30-ton capacity hydraulic lifting system, taking into account special design requirements. This cart features safety elements such as ultrasonic sensors, lasers, and bumpers. Furthermore, it was designed to be compatible with the rail line system on the factory premises, enabling autonomous movement.
This project represents a special solution offered by Fada Engineering to its customer. The rail coil transfer cart, developed according to special design measurements, enables the safe and efficient transport of high-tonnage coils. By integrating it with an automation unit for autonomous operation, this transfer cart has been an important step in increasing operational efficiency for the business.
